Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Global supply chains were disrupted due to COVID and economic woes. With different powers (like China) trying to get their presence everywhere, Ukraine conflict has worsened everything, and this is being noticed everywhere even where was not so noticed before, like in Europe. The solution is not easy. But, do we want to return to the former situation of a global supply chain where everything was short term, huge speed, where fruits could be harvested in one country, packaged in other continent and sold in a third one? Now we have the opportunity to create a better global supply chain, a new culture of sustainability and appreciation of everything, instead of a culture of easy replacement and planned obsolescence. Now is the time to use 4th IR tech like blockchain and AI to make a better global and local supply chain platforms, and to rethink everything from production to transport to delivery. Interesting times, indeed.
