Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst We are all seeing the prospects of a bad Autumn and Winter for Europe energy wise and its economic consequences. We find here the same problem as with any other big news. Bad news sell more, so it is easy to exaggerate, and difficult to find the true facts among FUD news and hype. But it looks like the elements for a perfect storm are coming together to create this possible event where Europe has no gas for heating, electricity issues, and with it a cascade of consequences (manufacturing companies closing, health services damaged, more unemployment, conflicts, populism...). What is really going to happen? Well first a debate on. what is a good source of energy should happen (why Germany is closing nuclear power stations and other countries going the opposite direction to avoid what is happening now?). Second all governments should prepare its citizens for anything and everything, even at the cost of losing popularity. European citizens have been living the best of lives compared to the rest of the world, and they are paying high taxes for it. Uncertainty drives to panic, and angriness when your taxes don't bring the services you are used to. To finish, this can be also the beginning of a dangerous path towards a full European conflict against Russia, which can spread around the globe. There is no other way but to pass through this hard times, but please let's not panic. We are more resilient than that.
