Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Changes, big and small, need that first step. This is the case here. A step which some would say is an illusion, a hopeless business (4 start hotel in the middle of an African slum?). But this is the way change happens. With the narrative being dismantled and the stereotypes broken. Many don't know that many African slums are not the hell they think, but places with vivid, vibrant, creative minds, which only need the chance to tell the world how things can go better. Khayelitsha is one of the top five largest slums in the world The name is Xhosa for New Home. It is reputed to be the largest and fastest-growing township in South Africa. This is also about perceptions. Many territories don't need help in form of aid, or NGOs, but a process of threading a business network strong enough that can be translated to the locals, who can build their own business, making sure that capital comes, infrastructures are fixed, and the rest will be coming.
