Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst 'The Merge' is the first stage (of five) of Ethereum to be able to complete, according to Buterin, 100,000 transactions per second. The other four are called 'The Surge', 'The Verge', 'The Purge' and finally 'The Splurge'. So now Ethereum is almost ready to start "The Merge" in September this year, in short "the merging of the execution layer (current Mainnet) and the Beacon Chain (new POS Layer)". It means Eth will have less issuance (deflationary asset) and it will cuts the power usage by a 99%. And yes, we are not experts on this, we had to search for information, and carefully watched this really informative video from our friend of CoinBureau. If this goes ahead without any glitches, it will start transforming Ethereum, and let's not forget most blockchain based platforms have a relationship with Ethereum in a way or another. For once, we don't talk about negativity in the markets, and this is a glimmer of hope.
