And as Arthur Clarke said "2 possibilities exist. Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying". And we can't close our individual and collective eyes to these possibilities, and this is why we have a space program (dinosaurs didn't have it....) and we are a curious species which can't but speculate if there are Kardashev types' civilisations out there, or just life, etc. Nothing as interesting as this, the next frontier.
