Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Energy being weaponised is not new. In history enemies understood perfectly that starving the enemy from energy which produces food or shelter was much important than actual battles. And where is a possible conflict energy sources are attacked. In fact this is seen in out digital world on the daily cyberattacks against power plants, energy transmissions, servers, distribution plants, etc. But now a strong threat is here. Russian stopping gas supply to Western Europe. While Souther European countries have a milder Winter, many have real cold weather, high number of elder population, very few other sources of energy. Reserves are calculated to be used by end of year. And anyone understand that factories (including food ones) need reliable forms of energy. A new thinking mainframe is needed in Europe to avoid this crisis. Even if Europe is not US or China, it continues to be a global power, specially working as EU, and any contraction in its economy and political problems which can happen will affect the whole world. Why European politicians are not already proactively acting is depressing.

Global Energy concerns and demand is producing already unrest in some parts of the world, which in Europe will be produced once the population get tired of bad populism. Oil prices maybe will go up due to this demand, by the way. Again, we will see what will happen, let's not fall in FUD, but just prepare for anything which may come. Prepare!
