Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Politicians don't like to be the bearer of bad news and less when elections are close by. This happens in US now, close to the November elections which can change the whole balance of power in the US Congress and Senate. Biden doesn't need bad news now, and if after elections Republicans win Congress etc there is always the chance to blame them about bad economy. This is the problem with politicians who think short and medium term but no long term. Anyway US economy is a mixture now of bad, very bad, and also good news. The employment rate for instance is not as bad as inflation and a recession should show. And the government again signs that inflation is going to be there but globally improving and not going towards a recession. So, this is what Biden and company say. But is that true? What do citizens say? What does private sector see? Check the comments on the podcast. The feelings are mostly negative.
