Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The narrative from western countries is that Russian males in military age are either fleeing, or they are taken from very poor regions, get drunk, ill trained and badly in need of weapons. There are videos, tweets, the whole social media full of videos and messages showing this. Maybe is true, but we shouldn't just chuckle and think Russia is going to lose because of what social media tell us. Ukrainians soldiers know it, because they ARE ready to die for their freedom and land. And these who flee Russia are just scared but, how many are really against the regime or against Putin or against the Ukrainians? We can't say, only that until now they were happy living under the situation. Furthermore, this just signs a break, a rupture of the disturbed social contract between Russian population and the government led by oligarchs and mafias. The elites need now warm bodies at the front, but this was not supposed to occur. If we really see change in Russia will be because of this broken social contract (preferably going better than the existent one, which is twisted and we could even say evil).
