Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst CBDCs are whether we want them or not, are coming. Central banks are preparing them all around the world, together with crypto and digital economy regulations. The change in this crypto environment will be of significance. CBDCs are, however, controversial, as for some they mean the way tradicional economy wants to continue controlling the economic and financial system, to appear different but being the same, the same dog with different leash. In fact it comes again to the perennial problem of privacy and anonymity which crypto wanted from the beginning, and the fact we are living in a common society where we have to give up some of our privacy for the good of all. The issue of financial freedom and empowerment against restrictions from a central body. And more. Well, as they are coming we will see exactly how this is going to develop, and if the advantages for society and individuals cover the obvious disadvantages.
