Watch: As the war in Ukraine escalates, will NATO soon be party to the conflict? | To the Point
(youtube.com)
Winter is approaching in Europe, and Vladimir Putin’s Russia is doing what it can to make it an exceptionally difficult one in Ukraine. Russian forces have been striking civilian infrastructure, including water supplies, power stations and residential buildings – sometimes using so-called kamikaze drones. But the West is showing its mettle: with EU plans to train some 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers and NATO running nuclear drills amid the tensions. Today on To the Point we ask: As the war in Ukraine escalates, will NATO soon be party to the conflict?
Our guests:
Marina Henke, security expert and professor of international relations at the Hertie School in Berlin.
Karolina Wigura, board member of the Polish weekly, Kultura Liberalna.
Moritz Gathmann, chief reporter for the German political magazine Cicero.

Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Interesting and unfortunately plausible documentary on the possible NATO implication in the Ukraine conflict. We don't want to add anything to what we are watching everyday in news, and opinion makers. But we also believe that an open conflict (unless nuclear tactic weapons, or biological/chemical weapons are really used) in a classical way is not as easy nowadays in Europe as the hybrid conflict. Even today we hear about sea internet cables being cut in different parts in the Atlantic, affecting Europe. Cyberattacks, infrastructure attacks, sabotages, anything which can affect the digital economy (and which may affect its development towards a 4th IR), can happen and in fact, it's already happening in a way or another. That is why many are openly talking about a Third World War now, not so much as a classical human against human solider war, but beyond that, in the digital realm, trying to ruin countries. NATO of course won't be silent about this if the attacks are more and more damaging, so we expect a lot of damage there. Meanwhile Russia is fighting a classical conflict with trenches and Ukrainians use NATO techniques and drones which can destroy trenches in seconds. Take care out there.
