The people have their say in our Cost of Living Debate.

We have gathered a wide range of people to talk about how the cost of living is affecting them.

We asked the government and the Conservative Party if a minister or MP would join us but nobody was available. We do have local Tory activists with us who helped turn Darlington from red to blue at the last election. From Labour we are joined by the Shadow Justice Secretary Steve Reed and we also have some experts in the audience to help with the facts.

Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The cost of life is steadily going up everywhere. Even worse, if we analyse sectors like cost of food and basic needs prices are much higher than any other sector, together with energy. Society can save in energy and other not basic needs, but when is difficult to put food on the table even in affluent societies like the EU and UK, then things become real problems for stability of any country, any society and communities. This podcast is focused on UK, anyway, where inflation is very high for a Western country and recession is practically assured. No optimism here.
