Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Narratives of conflicts vary according to mentalities, even cultures, and points of view. The "realist" point of view, which states one of the most important cause of Russia invading Ukraine is the stance of NATO and western policies in the last 15 years. This doesn't mean Russians are right, of course. All points of view have to be listened to, however. At the end of this war the winner, if any, will make their narrative dominate the story of history. So, does Russia thinks it is facing an existencial threat or it is just as other narratives say, acting as a country manipulated by an oligarchy of rich and corrupted people? And what will happen? Do they have the right to make a neighbour country a subsidiary of their points of view too? So many questions, and so many opinions about moral rights (evidently the behaviour of Russian Army is not moral seen the killings and disdain for lives, including the ones of their own soldiers). There are other conflicts on the world where global narratives are clashing too, like China and Taiwan, and other hotspots in the planet. Solutions are not easy. Only thing we can say now is that if we know that narratives exist, we can glimpse better the reality behind so many words and stories.
