Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst There is a famous book on the "Scramble for Africa", which happened from 1888 onwards when Europe met in Berlin and decided how to divide Africa for themselves. Remember, they believed they were doing the best for Africa bringing the three Cs, Civilisation, Christianism and Commerce, but actually was an excuse to just harvest Africa's resources using Africans which remained in poverty, malnutrition and diseased (resulting in individuals and societies which could scarcely get free of that colonial mentality of being "lower rank" to their colonial masters). This mentality exist yet in many parts, both in Africa and in other world territories with respect to Africa, with a neocolonialism of big corporations, investing in resources, in land and trade now with the excuse of "helping" Africa to stand on their own, but actually creating territories where again the local people is not the rightful owner of land and destiny, but have to depend on foreign enterprises or foreign aid, including Foundations, NGOs etc. We believe a revolution is needed, not of conflict or war, but of minds and ideas, in the middle of this paradigm's shift which is the 4th IR.
