Several times over the last week Donald Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transition of power if he loses on the November 3 election.

Democrats have condemned his threat and senior Republicans are distancing themselves from it.
But it remains unclear how serious Trump's threat is, whether he will try to carry it out and whether Republicans will back him if he does.
