Even if Twitter won't change very much or change to something we can't even think about now, Elon's move has stirred the debate of tolerance, free speech, opening new channels of conversation amid the noise of those yelling both against and for what happened. As Russells says here: "Polarity is not necessarily a bad thing, as it gives us the opportunity to create magnetic energy"... which always move us ahead. We are evolving into a Web.3, trying to decentralise what is now heavily centralised (even Twitter) so we have to take this debate beyond Twitter, billionaires etc to the great arena of the disruption brought by new ideas and tech of the 4th IR.
