    Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The debate is just starting to get on the surge of "sentiency" of AIs. We have talked several times about the Singularity, the moment when History will change as a new type of conscious being will live among us, an AGI. But by now, 2022, there are already Emergent AIs which imitate so well a conscious being which for many is difficult to really understand if they are really sentient and conscious or not. We understand that we have not reached yet this stage, but the acceleration of this technology is leaving us behind. However, listening to musk's warnings, is there a need to stop for a while and discuss how or even if we want AGIs and debate about all consequences we can fathom before we continue with this technology. Interestingly, any hard SF authors universes have the scenery where AIs are tightly controlled or even not even allowed to go beyond a threshold of sentiency, converting AIs in smart tools, but not free independent sentient non organic beings. What will be the way we are going to take? There are so many... one of them is even dystopia: "The country where singularity happens will be the one controlling the world". Scary. But also amazing that we live to maybe witness this soon.
