If you are old enough to remember the 1970's and beginning of 1980's you will understand this perfectly. here are extreme cases also Venezuela, Zimbabwe, which changed rich countries to basket case ones. Sri Lanka (check what is going on there) is basically bankrupt and needs to be rescued as they have basically nothing. But in more normal environments, inflation, recession, the whole rigmarole brings more poverty, more violence, more political infighting, more nationalism against globalism, more negativity than positivity. Well, we are in this new cycle, and we have to deal with it. Let's be as optimistic as possible until everything becomes better.
