Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The situation in China, seen from our cultures, is difficult to understand. The simplest of the explanations probably have many layers of causes and reasons on why there is a situation when subjects of the China State have had enough after strict surveillance and Covid lockdown and just protests, even against the very real hard consequences for the protesters. As when the URSS existed, there are now China specialists quickly writing reports on causes, what is happening now and possible consequences. China has built a "democrature" where the people is becoming too much controlled, with abuse of power on the name of taking care of the good of the society over the individual, controlled with a strict COVID policy which is not sustainable and at the same time not having alternatives. Those in the receiving end are the protesters, when their social credit is zero, their jobs lost, their lives shattered due to this zero COVID policy, and with them now students of Universities, and now a new symbol, the white paper showing they want to say the truth but nobody is allowed to do it. Extended lockdowns are also making people anxious and angry as seen when the Chinese Apple factory workers clashed with police due to this just some days ago, and camps are being building for COVID sick people. The usual solution for this country protest by the government will probably be more violence on the government side. But, again, we can easily see these protests are going to be used by the elites opposed to Xi, by underlining that this is happening all around China, with people of all classes and minorities, protesting about the failing of the State to protect the people, and treating citizens more like subjects.
