Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst This topic is more complicated that it seems. Of course it is easy to find Gen Z examples who are already tired of the 9 to 5office cubicle, and find figures of the actual rise of depression, stress and mental health issues in Western countries among them. But there are many others who have learnt also that work is a part of life. Yes, the future of work as we know it in many parts of the world is going to change with AI and robotics, and the economy is not like Boomers and Xs enjoyed. Each generation has its own challenging times. What we need is to rethink this GenZ environment and also how companies see humans work, as a cog of the machine or as a place to innovate, produce, grow and thrive. The "faster" generation gets stress from these changes, from social media (lots of social and personal anxiety coming from this addiction), from unrealised promises which were fed to them in schools. Going through the hard way of finding your passion, where you can sacrifice because is worthy, because makes you a better, not just successful, is the best experience, but many GenZ don't even want to go through it. Meanwhile companies will find difficult to find staff which are not committed to work or just afraid of commitment. Anyway, the complains about the younger generation has been always been there through history, from the classical Greeks and Pharaonic Egypt times to now. When those who are infants and kids now grow, what are we going to say about them (in a totally changed job market)?
