NFT Worlds is using Minecraft to create a new metaverse that can scale to millions of users - will it work?
In this video I go over NFT Worlds which is one of the most hyped collections of 2022 (currently hovering around 16 eth floor). This is a collection of 10,000 "worlds" that are essentially full customizable minecraft servers that can be used for crypto games and other metaverse content.
The idea here is that by leveraging Minecraft and the open source library behind it, NFT Worlds can fix a lot of the issues with other virtual worlds like Sandbox, Decentraland, Cryptovoxels etc.
Specifically it aims to reduce the friction for new users to actually jump into the game, and makes it easier for people to build custom worlds in a highly optimized game engine.
The next phase is ramping up with the $WRLD token which is still in the middle of a couple of major airdrops, and this could become the way most people gain exposure to the ecosystem.

Coinbase’s revenue, trading volumes, monthly transacting users and platform assets all rose in the final quarter of a year during which the company became the first publicly traded crypto exchange. The crypto exchange’s trading volume hit $547 billion, a nearly 70% quarter-over-quarter increase. Coinbase is also claiming that current ETH staking yields (between 4-5%) should double to upwards of 9-12% APR in June.

This is a complicated issue, but hugely important as it is the interbank's messaging system interbank not only for individuals, but for any funds being moved. Sanctions for Rusia don't include all Banks, as Western Europe needs to pay or buy for their energy from Russia. But even if it is not a complete cut, it's a huge move. It means russia will go to alternative solutions, like the one being promoted by China, or creating another one, or just deal with crypto, why not? Let's not forget that Russia is not just exporting energy, but lots of minerals and agricultural commodities. This is an economic earthquake.

Some historians compare this with 1938 appeasement doctrine when Hitler just annexed whole countries. The reality, however, is much more complicated than this. What can be done when Putin seems to be acting irrationally? What is the scope and the consequences of the sanctions' How is this going to affect people in the streets not only in Ukraine but for many in Europe when we live in a global economy where everything is interconnected? Western countries have tried first diplomacy, and any physical military help is not like in movies. It needs decisions, logistics, clear supply chains, etc. Probably there is a lot of diplomatic channels opened, and also Western countries (USA leading) helping Ukraine with information on Russia troops, air and other military movements, while making sure Putin understand the fool of this war even if Ucraine is defeated militarily, the ultimate consequences for russia will be worse in the near future. The fog of war is very thick even in times of Tiktok, videos and 24 hours news channels.

Get informed, be aware of what is going on and always decide using common sense and cool calm decisions.

Longtime crypto skeptic and Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman said in an opinion piece for The New York Times Thursday he sees "uncomfortable parallels" between crypto and the subprime mortgage crisis of the 2000s. However, Krugman conceded that due to the size of the market, crypto is not as likely to cause a wider economic crisis. "The Hash" panel weighs in.

Earlier this month Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, took steps to curb harassment in the virtual world by giving VR participants a two-foot ‘personal boundary’ by default when entering the metaverse. The move comes after a beta user complained her avatar had been groped. But the company says it may loosen restrictions in the future to allow people to shorten their personal space once they feel more comfortable.
Infringement of space isn’t the only concern for critics. Many are worried tech companies aren’t doing enough to shield users, particularly children, from bullying or other illicit behaviour. In fact, some parents fear that without regulation virtual reality can easily become a breeding ground for predators. However, proponents of virtual reality say it's the natural evolution of the internet and are concerned regulation would stifle the ability to build a vast network of interconnected worlds.
Can online harassment even be solved? Some in the industry think it’s too late for legacy platforms but believe if new companies incorporate safety into their design, it would give them a competitive edge.
