Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst Is regulation of crypto a good or a bad thing? We believe that, at a minimum, is necessary to regulate in order to protect the public from scams and frauds, and crypto platforms from hacking and other cyber crimes. There are other type of regulations which will depend on countries and financial laws (which will have to adapt to these new assets). If not, we see crypto bans here and there, or suspicions from part of investors and users of non regulated assets. Interesting discussion in this podcast.

Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst With BTC going down more than a 8% in the last seven days, and most Altcoins plunging into bear market, nobody knows exactly what is going to happen. It will depend on the strength of the market floor. Things seem not optimistic anyway. This doesn't stop other developments, like Binance surprising everyone by supporting Elon Musk's bid for Twitter (Binance being in the news a lot this week!) and Kraken preparing a NFT's market. Let's continue looking at everything long term, with a market which can go either way but ultimately should evolve to be a leaner better one, and more and more new ideas and developments on the way to make the digital economy grow and be massively used.

One of them is that its market, even growing, it is just a small part of the global financial markets. However, States and traditional finance are taking notes and seeing how to work with it, as a digital economy is by now unavoidable. There is yet a long road before we all can use crypto for almost everything, and the debates (like the one saying that crypto mining is extremely bad for the fight against climate change) will continue this whole decade. One day, maybe, maybe we will pay our coffee cup with crypto everywhere in the world.

Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The fog of war, present in any conflict, makes very difficult to see what is really happening, and conflict analysts in media and social media trying to understand and resume what is going to happen will always have a bias towards one of the sides of the conflict. But, what would happen if Putin officially declares war next May 9th? There are lots of legal consequences for that country, and also for the global theatre of operations and the countries implicated directly or indirectly in this issue. Sometimes everything can be compared to the months just before the First World War, when nobody wanted a war, but the positions, the legal requirements and the decision taking made it unavoidable. Let's hope this is not the case.

The problem for both is that this market is built on a shaky foundation. Prices and interest can drop overnight and it can be very hard to tell what is real or purely market manipulation. Is it possible to trust this market? Why is fraud getting more common? And what is the real value of NFTs?

Francisco Gimeno - BC Analyst The NFT's market is moving a lot of money, but is mostly in a hype, with everybody trying to launch NFTs, looking to be NFTs which reek of exclusivity and social standing thus bringing the expensive prices. But the absurd amount of useless NFTs, and the lack of understanding of the real value of this space makes it sometimes weird. We understand that NFTs are just a blank canvas at this time, where we are trying to experiment and test which kind of uses will have and surely many of those uses don't even exist now. The hype will make the bubble burst and the next iteration will leave NFTs which are sound and a space changed from what is now for the best, as NFTs will have a better foundation to be used in the Metaverse. NFTs will be another element to have and use in our digital life. This will be a sign of the understanding of technology shift when many, not just those who like to invest (both institutions and retail), will be visiting and doing their lives in different Metaverse platforms where they will find these Non Fungible Tokens to be used for many things, some probably we haven't even realised yet.

As markets become more volatile, cryptocurrencies can offer pockets of shelter.
There are four catalysts that can cause a crypto bull run, according to Haouk Lee, Founder and CIO of Trinity Digital Assets.
Before his foray in crypto, Lee invested in real estate in emerging markets. Starting in 2017, he started investing in Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Lee was first drawn to crypto assets because they were “outperforming every other financial asset,” and because of their network effects.
“We… use a four-pronged strategy in terms of playing this market,” Lee told David Lin, producer and anchor for Kitco News.
